Silicon Run Film Series
Silicon Run Film Series

The Silicon Run Series combines live industrial footage with animation, graphics, microscopic filming and special effects to give an engaging, detailed overview of semiconductor and computer manufacture, from crystal growth through systems assembly.

Taking its viewers on a guided tour through rarely accessible industrial sites, it shows, step by step, how integrated circuits are fabricated, then assembled in the electronic systems of microcomputers and the multichip modules of high-end computers.

Now in use at over 5,000 international academic, corporate, and government sites, the Silicon Run Series tapes are highly valued for their usefulness in clarifying complex concepts and translating academic theory into practical applications.

MERC to Host Free Web Seminar: Teaching Lean Manufacturing

On Friday, May 6, MERC will host a free web seminar entitled "Teaching Lean Manufacturing." This web seminar will feature Dr. J T. Black, Professor Emeritus, Industrial Systems Engineering, Auburn University. Dr. Black is also an Engineering Fellow with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and is co-author of Materials and Processes in Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing and Cell Design.

During this live broadcast, Dr. Black, a leading authority in lean manufacturing, will share his extensive expertise to provide participants with tools and techniques for student success in lean manufacturing concepts and applications.

Because the response to the web seminar has been overwhelming, available spaces have already been filled. If you were interested in this web seminar, please check future MERC announcements as another "Teaching Lean Manufacturing" web seminar may be offered.
