Check Out Our New Design!

The NCME website has been redesigned! You can use our new toolbar for easier navigation through our website, and
view-at-a-glance all of the resources that NCME has to offer. NCME now offers quick access to curriculum, learning activities, and the ability to modify or create your own curriculum materials. We've added a "What's New?" page to our online resource center, MERC, so that you can quickly see the recently added materials, resource links and nationwide events. And we still offer suggested searches and an advanced search of our database of educational materials, but now you can also choose from keywords to ensure a more successful search!

So take a look around and tell us what you think!

In The News
NCME/NJCATE Advancing Innovations Conference a Success

The Advancing Innovations in Engineering Technology Conference, hosted by the NCME and our sister center NJCATE, took place November 2-4, 2005 in San Diego CA. The conference was held at San Diego City College, which provided an excellent venue for presentations and discussions of innovative approaches to topics in engineering technology education.

Specifically, the conference was organized around three major focus areas: emerging technologies, innovative curriculum/pedagogy/methodology, and recruitment & retention. Within each focus area, two and four-year educators shared presentations on innovative programs and strategies they are implementing. After the presentations, the conference attendees participated in roundtable discussions about each focus area, sharing their discussions with the larger group.

The first-year conference was very successful. Some comments from participants included: "Thank you for organizing. This was extremely beneficial to me as a new college educator," and "Let me know where this conference will be held next year!"

A summary of the presentations and discussions from the conference will be compiled and shared with conference participants within the next few weeks. Continue to check MERC for information about next year's conference and other upcoming events!
